Christian Diaz serves as the Chief Financial Officer/Chief Operating Officer for the King County Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS). In this role, he manages the department's budget, oversees resource management, provides financial advice, and supervises the Finance Division.

Christian's career has been dedicated to public health. Before joining DCHS, he was the Assistant Commissioner for Finance, Administration, and Services at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's Center for Health Equity and Community Wellness. There, he managed the budget, operations, and health insurance enrollment services, expanded programs to address health inequities, and supported community-based investments. During the pandemic, he played a crucial role in NYC’s emergency response by setting up and managing vaccine clinics and developing innovative resource management strategies to address COVID-19 health disparities.

Previously, Christian was the Department Director of Finance and Administration at the Seattle Department of Transportation, where he managed complex budgets and influenced equitable infrastructure investments. Earlier in his career, he held several key positions in New York City government, including Executive Director of Finance at New York City Health + Hospitals Correctional Health Services and Budget Director for the Division of Health Care Access and Improvement at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
