
Mary Kushion is a coach for scholars in NWCPHP’s Public Health Management Certificate program. She brings her experiences and expertise gained in her 25-year career in local public health to provide consultant services to a variety of local, state, and national organizations in the areas of accreditation preparedness, strategic planning, workforce development, and population health improvement.
In addition to her work with NWCPHP, Mary served as a member of the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) Standards Development Workgroup and is currently a member of PHAB’s Accreditation Improvement Committee. Mary is an experienced PHAB Site Visitor and has been the team lead since the inception of the program. Mary is also a faculty member at Central Michigan University, where she received a Master of Science in Administration degree, and is trained as a Community Coalition Coach from the Center for Creative Leadership, and served as a Survive and Thrive Coach for the National Association of County and City Health Officials.
