Today’s public health challenges are complex and require the current and incoming workforce to lead adaptable large-scale change that focuses more on cross-sector, upstream interventions.

In response, NWCPHP is excited to announce the launch of the Organizational Systems course. This eight-week, live learning series introduces participants to a holistic approach to understanding and managing an organization by recognizing the complex network of interconnected elements at play, internally and externally. Using current concepts and models to examine their own organizations and projects, participants will develop capacities to perceive, understand, and facilitate change in public health organizations.

With health equity as a focus, participants will apply principles of ethics, equity, diversity, inclusion, and justice in designing, implementing, evaluating, and improving policies, programs, and services.

“In our ever-changing world, we must be open to embracing uncertainty and discomforts. This course is an opportunity to assess and reflect on organizational systems and the truth is, in collaboration, we can find paths forward and move beyond hope into action to create the optimistic and meaningful future we desire,” stated course instructor, Mary Kay Chess, PhD.

Organizational Systems is designed for public health professionals who want to understand system complexities and analyze dynamic environments. It is meant to be a highly interactive learning opportunity. Learn and grow with your colleagues from around the region. Local, state, and tribal public health professionals are encouraged to register.

The registration deadline for this offering is April 1, 2025, but may close earlier if spaces fill up.
