People of Public Health (POPHealth) is a new kind of podcast. Framed with the CDC’s 10 Essential Public Health Services, each season NWCPHP visits small towns, big cities, and everything in between, to hear from the professionals in our region who bring hope and healing to their communities. Listeners gain familiarity with challenges, successes, and questions that emerge across the country in the everyday work of public health practice.
In this season, against the backdrop of an opioid epidemic that has raged across the country for decades, a startling shift has emerged that has shaken up how Public Health responds to this crisis.
Kevin deVoss, Instructional Designer and co-producer said, “What makes this podcast different from others is that it is not lecture, or interview style. It uses a narrative that focuses directly on the people in practice which we believe will encourage listeners to reflect deeply on the impact of their work in public health and stimulate them to creatively advance their practice in their own communities.”
POPHealth is designed for those new to public health as well as professionals who would like a deeper understanding of the everyday issues in the field. All are encouraged to give it a listen.
