Mary Kushion is a coach for scholars in NWCPHP’s Public Health Management Certificate. She brings her experiences and expertise gained in her 25-year career in local public health to provide consultant services to a variety of local, state, and national organizations in the areas of accreditation preparedness, strategic planning, workforce development, and population health improvement.
In addition to her work with NWCPHP, Mary served as a member of the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) Standards Development Workgroup and is currently a member of PHAB’s Accreditation Improvement Committee. Mary is an experienced PHAB Site Visitor and has been the team lead since the inception of the program. She also completed the invitation-only PHAB Technical Assistance Provider Training in 2019.
In addition to her consulting work, Mary is a faculty member at Central Michigan University, is trained as a Community Coalition Coach from the Center for Creative Leadership, and served as a Survive and Thrive Coach for the National Association of County and City Health Officials. Mary received a Master of Science in Administration degree from Central Michigan University.
